Tommy Bahama Opening in Waikiki

tommybahamaTommy Bahama has announced plans to open a new restaurant and retail destination in Waikiki in August 2015.

Located at 298 Beach Walk, the planned three-level, 19,323-square-foot Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Bar & Store captures the views of legendary Kalakaua Avenue, considered the center of Waikiki’s preeminent shopping district. Celebrating the rich heritage of Hawaii and the relaxed style synonymous with the brand, Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Bar & Store will honor cultural island traditions while reflecting its easy resort spirit.

There are currently seven Tommy Bahama stores in Hawaii including two with restaurants: The Shops at Mauna Lani on the Big Island and The Shops at Wailea on Maui.

“Waikiki Beach is an iconic destination for vacationers from all over the world and the perfect setting to share an authentic Tommy Bahama dining and shopping experience,” said Rob Goldberg, Executive Vice President Restaurants, Tommy Bahama.

The new location will include an expansive first floor retail space with a restaurant and bar area on the second floor opening up to a cascade of windows taking advantage of city views while creating an outdoor feel. The third level rooftop bar will feature a terrace style cocktail area for lounging with a sandy beach patio modeling a seashore vibe.

A significant architectural design feature will be a beautiful staircase that will usher guests seamlessly between floors, bordered by a lush living plant wall for a green garden effect. The colorful ambiance will be enhanced with warm wood tones, lavish textures and clever décor in keeping with Tommy Bahama’s signature, luxuriously understated surroundings.

“This particular location is naturally representative of Tommy Bahama’s relaxed living philosophy. We’ve embraced Waikiki’s spectacular beach and urban elements, blending the best of these two settings to take advantage of this ultimate vacation spot,” added Mr. Goldberg.

Offering an easily accessible oasis for a fun escape, guests will find an impressive assortment of Tommy Bahama men’s and women’s sportswear, swimwear, footwear, accessories, and a selection of home décor items. The restaurant’s menu will focus on regional Hawaiian island-inspired cuisine using fresh, seasonal ingredients with locally sourced beef and seafood. On the third level, guests can immerse themselves in the lively bar setting and unwind while imbibing on hand-crafted cocktails, wine and local brews.

With the brand’s affinity for coastal climates showcasing a relaxed lifestyle that engages the senses and delights enthusiasts, Tommy Bahama Restaurant, Bar & Store has found another home in Honolulu.
