Honolulu Magazine Names 2020 Hale ‘Aina Award Winners
Established in 1984, the Hale ‘Aina Awards recognize Hawaii’s based restaurants, according to Honolulu Magazine and its readers. This year, more than 8,000 votes were cast to name Hawaii’s favorite restaurants and “Restauranteur of the Year.” Following a virtual reception held no Sept. 14, the details of the winning restaurants and stories of the people behind them will appear in the December 2020 issue of the magazine.

- Best Big Island Restaurant: Merriman’s Waimea
- Best Kauai Restaurant: The Beach House
- Best Service: Hy’s Steak House
- Best Breakfast: Café Kaila
- Best Brunch: Orchids
- Best Business Lunch: Mariposa
- Best Buffet: LÄ Hiki Kitchen
- Best Cocktail: Bar Leather Apron
- Best Wine Program: Vino
- Best Beer Program: Square Barrels
