Aloha Tofu Opens Iwilei Location
Aloha Tofu, a local company that’s been around for over half a century, is expanding its operation to include a new retail location in Iwilei.
The company has run its factory in Kalihi since 1976, but company president Paul Uyehara told Pacific Business News that “We are trying a couple of new things at [Dole Cannery].”
Much of the space is devoted to a commercial kitchen, but there is a counter and a few small tables to serve up tofu-centric dishes. There will be plate lunches, special Friday bento combinations, and a few sides and desserts.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the first day of business is tomorrow, Jan. 5.
